It is the time of End semester exams at NIT-C.The fifth semester is at its end.Only three sem remains.

Pazhassi Raja

Malayalam cinema is trying its first biopic magnum opus with Pazhassi Raja.This film is the story of a King who ruled Kerala during the British Empire. The king of Malayalam cinema Mammootty is doing the main role and there are a plethora of artists who are a part of it. R. Sarathkumar, Thilakan, Kanika Subramaniam, Padmapriya, Manoj K. Jayan, Peter Handley Evans, Harry Key, Linda Arsenio, and Jagathi Sreekumar in other pivotal roles.The film is directed by Hariharan and written by famous writer M.T Vasudenvan Nair. The sound designing is done by Academy Award winner Resul Pookutty. Originally filmed in the Malayalam language, the film is to be dubbed and released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi on the same date.In hindi, the great SRK(shah rukh khan ) dubs the prologue.

Businessman Gokulam Gopalan is the producer of Pazhashi Raja. The total budget of the movie is about INR 32 crores,which makes it the biggest historical movie ever produced in the South Indian film industry and the highest budget Malayalam movie.In the movie no computer graphics are used in the stunt scenes, inspite the actors including Mammootty and Sarath Kumar(who is making his debut in malayalam) made the exciting action sequences which uses the techniques of ancient Kerala martial art Kalaripayattu.

The film is scheduled to be released worldwide on 9 October 2009,release with 560 prints out of which 125 are in the original Malayalam version, 100 are in Tamil, 100 in Telugu, 110 in Hindi, and another 125 in Hindi with English subtitles for overseas release.

TATHVA 09

Tathva is the annual techno-management festival organized by the National Institute of Technology, Calicut (NITC),Kerala,India. Tathva is organized during odd semesters, during the month of October and lasts for four days.This year it is scheduled at Oct 22-25.

A little history

The fest which was started in a small scale, as a technical festival during the era of REC (NITC was formerly CREC-Calicut Regional Engineering College) has now grown by leaps and bounds attracting budding engineers from far and wide. The fest daunted greater heights by transforming into a techno-management fest from the year 2007. Apart from the showcasing of events that are of commendable nature, it is also the manifestation of the organizing capabilities of NITCians. The event attracts budding technical minds from other NITs, professional colleges and almost all the engineering colleges in and around Kerala. It also attracts a large number of school students as part of the school project competitions and quizzes. It also gives them the chance to get a feel of the emerging and proven technologies at the various stalls, thus inspiring them.

Tathva 09 is scheduled to be held at NIT CALICUT from Oct 22-25.Dr. A .Shivathanu pillai will inaugrate the fest.This year is characterised by the lectures series from A.P.J Abdul kalam

Sami Yusuf

Iam a great fan of Sami Yusuf ,The famous British Muslim singer-songwriter.His music comprises mostly of songs to do with Islam and being a Muslim in today's world. He also deals with many social and humanitarian issues in his music. He is fast becoming a very popular figure in the Islamic world, having made videos for several of his tracks; according to The Guardian, he "has good claim to being the most famous British Muslim in the world".In 2006 Time Magazine called him "Islam's biggest rock star".

To know more , i googled and got this stuff about his career. By birth he is an iranianand moved to Britian when he was three..(blah blah).
ALBUMS
Al Muallim,his first Album released in 2005 was a huge success.My Ummah ,second one came in many languages.Third album,Without You, was delayed due to some dispute.

The song titled Hasbi Rabbi, is very nice among all(i felt so eventhough all are most equally nice).His new song "You came to me" is released.u can download it from his official site.
